Here's my unexpected tip after running 24 marathons... the last one is KEY! Bring tissues. Weird, I know, but there are multiple reasons. 1: Not every portapotty has toilet paper 2: You can stuff them between your skin and any clothing item that is starting to chafe (travel vaseline tubes also help) 3: I don't care how stoic you are. It's likely that you'll tear up, whether from the supportive crowd, deep feels about your accomplishment, or sweat in your eyes! (Probably the feels!) #run #runnin

After 24 marathons, I’ve learned that some days you have to run in defiance of your brain. You also have to know the difference between I-don’t-wanna runs and actual injury or exhaustion. If you have the latter, freaking rest, friends! If it’s just because you don’t feel like it, think of it as an act of rebellion. It works!
